Bryan is a political advocacy organizer, a bisexual man, and an ally to transgender people. He credits one of his good friends, who is a non-binary person, with helping him realize that transgender people need all of us to call for affirmative nondiscrimination protections in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
“Nondiscrimination policies create more welcoming opportunities for trans people, which then encourages further devotion to their communities,” he said. “Welcoming environments help everyone because they increase the number of people applying for jobs, which increases the likelihood of finding the best candidates. This leads to better doctors, lawyers, engineers, and workers in general.”
Bryan appreciates that doesn’t face discrimination at work or where he lives, and he wants everyone to be able to feel that sense of security.
