Elida Baverman
Atlanta, GA

Elida Baverman is the mother of an openly lesbian daughter and is a staunch believer in dignity and fairness for all. Her daughter lives and works in a state where LGBTQ people are fully and explicitly protected from discrimination at the state level, and Elida believes that these laws need to be in place not only in her home state of Georgia but also nationwide, particularly because without them, states are losing out on opportunities to attract strong businesses and employees.

“We need to be working to attract top talent from around the country, and to do that people need to know that Georgia is a welcoming state,” Elida said. “People want to know that they’re being judged on their merit, on their ability to do the job, not on who they love or what their family looks like.”
